The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) are seeking nominations for the eighth annual Two Chiefs’ Partnership Award. The awards recognize successful forestry conservation efforts made possible through partnerships. The 2015 Two Chiefs’ Partnership Award certificates will be given in two categories, individual and group, and will be presented to the recipients by Forest Service and NRCS leaders at an appropriate future venue or by mail.
Nominees must have worked jointly for a minimum of two years to achieve gains in forestry-related conservation with at least two of the following agencies: conservation districts, Forest Service, NRCS or state forestry agencies. Nominations are evaluated based upon collaboration duration, outcomes and achievements, use of a new approach or technology, impact on a sizeable stakeholder group, and conservation gains across multiple resources.
Nomination submissions should include:
- A project title and location
- A list of individual partners and their organization; and
- A supporting narrative detailing the relevant work of the nominee(s) and the successful outcome of the partnership
